When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.

Americans for Religious Liberty Mission Statement

Adopted by the Board of Directors
February 11, 2002 - Washington, DC

The Mission of Americans For Religious Liberty is to defend the core constitutional principle of separation of church and state and, in so doing, help to preserve our nation's historic tradition of religious, intellectual and moral freedom in a secular state. Providing a public voice for those who support these aims, and in cooperation with like-minded organizations and individuals, Americans For Religious Liberty pursues its mission through research, education, advocacy, and publishing.
